We're all okay but...

Well, it's been a little over a week since our last accident and I guess it was time for another one. Thank God no one was hurt. Here's the story...

My parents are staying with us for the week. They came here to help me watch the girls during Spring Break while P works all week. Last night we were in the living room of out home and heard a loud bang. The girls were asleep, but we all heard it loud and clear. P and I thought it was a car that backfired. My dad thought it was a gunshot. I went to the door to check it out. I turned on the porch light and someone said be careful. I turned off the night and went outside. There was no one on the street and I heard no cars driving away. We wrote it off as a car backfire and thought nothing more of it.

This afternoon when my parents were going to do some shopping in the afternoon, my mom spotted a bullet hole in my dad's car. The bullet came from the direction across the street, went through the door, ricocheted, and ended up going though the seat. The last thing the bullet hit was a hat my dad had sitting behind the driver's seat.

We talked to the neighbor woman across the street this afternoon and she heard it behind her house. So the stray bullet must have come from over her house before colliding with my dad's SUV. We only heard one noise, so we probably never even heard the gunshot, just the bullet hitting the truck.

Pray for our family's protection and for a quick fix for my dad's truck.

Thanks,
J and P
The entry point is about 3/4 of an inch wide at it's widest.

Above is the inside of the door.

Here's where the bullet bounced off the inside part of the door and continued into the truck.
